The Hunting Farm

The ranch house provides guest accommodations. Hunters stay in two comfortable guest rooms with a private bathroom equipped with hot and cold running water. Full electricity is provided. (220v) A thatched outdoor fireplace and patio provide a place to relax after a day of hunting. Home cooked, ranch style meals are prepared by Thea, using hunting area and local produce. The fruits of the hunt provide the centerpiece for the meals. The hunter can pack light because daily laundry service is provided.

Dirk will meet you upon arrival at Windhoek International airport. The hunting area is located about 225 miles north of Windhoek, and the no cost transport to our hunting area on hard top roads takes approximately three hours. For souvenirs or supplies, the town of Otjiwarongo is about 65 miles away. After the hunt, the clients are transported back to Windhoek, and Dirk will escort you through the check in procedures to ensure a smooth transition onto your departing flight.

The hunts are conducted on a 1x1 or 2x1 basis. More than two hunters can be accommodated by bringing in another professional hunter. Hunters booking a hunt for a group of three or more will each receive a 5% discount on the 2x1 daily rate. If you finish your hunt early we can arrange for a day tour of Etosha National Park, the Waterburg Game Reserve, or a day of wing shooting.

The Namibian hunting season for big game runs from 1 February to 31 November. The hunting is all fair chase. Hunters travel by vehicle throughout the hunting area glassing for game, and stop to walk through areas that typically have game feeding. As game is spotted, the stalk begins. The terrain and brush is such that shots are normally available at 125 yards or less. Blinds are available and occasionally used, especially for those hunters that have mobility issues

In addition to excellent Eland trophy hunting, the brushy terrain in the hunting areas provide excellent habitat for Kudu, Wildebeest, Warthog, and Oryx hunting. Other hunting areas on the conservancy offer excellent opportunities to hunt Leopard, Cheetah, and Zebra. With prior arrangements we can arrange for hunting the more exotic species such as Damara Dik- Dik, Waterbuck, Giraffe, and Klippspringer.
